The Magic Cooker Lid divides the steam vapour from the liquid in the food you’re cooking. The steam rises, and the liquid falls to the bottom of your pot. The design of the lid means that the vapour drops back down into the pot, ensuring it cooks on both sides, and reduces cooking time.
Your Magic Cooker Lid is a sturdy construction, and if cared for correctly, will last for many years! Made from
the toughest 18/10 grade stainless steel, it even comes with a 25-year guarantee if used as instructed.
The Magic Cooker Lid will work perfectly with any flat-bottomed pots or pans you currently have,
that measure from 13cm to 35cm in diameter.
Although non-stick pots and pans will give the best results, the Magic Cooker Lid works with all types and sizes
of pots.
Cooking time depends on the size of the pot you use, the quantity and type of food you are cooking
and the accuracy of your cooktop’s temperature, whether gas, electric or induction.
You can even cook meat, fish or chicken straight from the freezer without having to defrost.
Because the cooking environment created by the Magic Cooker Lid retains moisture and the food’s natural juices,
you will find you need to use less oil during cooking. We recommend that you add any required oil or salt at the
end of cooking.
Steam will build up during the cooking process, so lift the lid with care. When using a gas cook top, we suggest
matching the size of the flame to the size of the pot or pan being used.
To clean the Magic Cooker Lid, simply use hot soapy water with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasives. The Magic Cooker
Lid can also be washed in the dishwasher.
The design of the Magic Cooker Lid means that generally, many dishes should take less time to cook. You will find mastering this great new way of cooking will take only a little practice!
When starting out, we recommend you reduce your normal cooking time by about 25-50 per cent. All cooking times we offer in our recipes are approximate, as the accuracy of your cooktop’s temperature, the size of the pot and the quantity of food you are cooking will all vary.
If frying floured or crumbed food, wait until the oil stops frying before removing the Magic Cooker
Lid, to avoid oil splatter.
We recommend using a minimum heat for fresh meat and fish. Generally meat and fish need only be cooked for two
to three minutes, but this does depend on the quantity of food being cooked, and size of the pot used.
To cook pasta, we suggest 100 ml of water to every 100 grams of pasta used. For rice, we suggest 300 ml of water
to every 100 grams of rice. Quantities can be adjusted to the size of the cooking pot.
The Magic Cooker Lid works with all types of pots, and the cooking time will vary accordingly. It depends on whether the cooking pot is steel, as in the case of stove top cooking or Pyrex, as in the case of oven cooking. The base thickness of the cooking pot and if you use gas or electric, cooking times will vary. It’s a case of cooking practice.
